Another Milestone (or Two)
I have completed two more milestones in my attempt to
get fit.
First I have finished an actual, verifiable 3 mile run (also called the
5K). More than once. And I didn't die.
Also, I have finally dropped below 220lbs. This weight has been a mental barrier for me; I have not weighed less than this for most of my adult life. So here is to my current 219lbs, and to the 218, 217 and n-1 lbs to follow.
According to
Cool Running, I should run 3 miles 3 times a week for the next 6 weeks or so. They also say that this might be the best personal fitness growth I will see.
My long term goal is to run with the
Hood to Coast relay team my company sponsors. By long term I mean in the summer of 2009. I have already signed up. Sometime in November we find out if we are in. And for some sick reason, I am looking forward to it.
