Still Breathing
I told you all I was going to take a posting hiatus. At the behest of
TheLon, I submit to you the following:
It has been several months since I graduated. I have been a full time engineer for 8 months. It was strange when September came around and I had not signed up for classes. I hadn't pondered my schedule, hadn't become excited about the prospect of new ideas, of learning new things, of expanding my knowledge.
I must say I miss it. It was a busy time: classes, job, wife, kids, other. But, Education is such a quintessential experience. Uniquely
human. And I enjoyed the sense of purpose and the thrill of discovery. I had a goal, the going was hard, but it made it all the more worthwhile. And along the way I was presented with so many ideas and concepts, I am just now getting them sorted out.
And I made some lifelong friends. People like Bdog, TheLon, Del Meekre and many others. You can't put a price on friendships like those. And Dale was there for the whole ride. That was very cool.
So, I miss it. But, there are more things to accomplish, more goals to set and achieve. Onward, upward.
I don't miss the mid-terms.
